This beautiful bay mare, purchased in England by Anne Beven and imported by Gypsy MVP, really caught my eye with her beautiful color, markings, and long flowing mane. Then I found out that she was bred to Sundance Kid, (the stallion I loved) and I was sold on her. Rosie has big, beautiful eyes, and is gentle with her people. She is a great mom and in 2010 produced a lovely bay tobiano filly who we named RMHF Sundance Kids Rosetta or“Zettie”. Rosie is bred to our stallion, Lake Ridge Shandy Blackfeathers for a June 2012 foal. We are really excited about this foal as it will be the first ever by Shandy. This foal will be black based since Rosie is EE, (bay, buckskin, black or smokey black) and could be either a tobiano pattern or solid. We can’t wait!

GYPSY ELITE SANDI-KAY
Born: 4-26-2007
Sire: Gypsy Elite Pride & Joy
Dam: Clononeen Siobhra (Daisy)
DNA: EE, TT, aa, and nn for Sabino 1, cream and silver
I was fascinated with the gorgeous Gypsy Breed from the first minute I saw them. Every so often I would see a few on a website and wonder what these amazingly beautiful horses were like. In 2009 we were in Colorado and I was able to visit the Black Forest Shire Gypsy Ranch. After seeing these horses close up, I started dreaming of owning one someday. That happened at the end of 2009 when Deb and Jeff Gakstatter agreed to sell their 2 year old filly Sandi-Kay to us. I was looking for a really sweet horse, and that’s what we got. Sandi-Kay is a dream horse: she has perfect gypsy conformation (just like her sire Pride & Joy), is beautifully marked, has great mane and feathers, and has a wonderfully sweet head and temperament! She has been trained to drive and ride, and is now bred to the fabulous stallion The Ambassador also known as BeesKnees. We are expecting a beautiful, perfect foal in April of 2012. Sandi-Kay will always throw black based tobiano foals. I expect her to be a great mother and pass on her excellent temperament.

Here’s my story, and I’m sticking to it! I was looking for a bay blagdon mare when I saw a stunning blagdon gelding on the internet. I wrote to his owner and asked where he came from, telling her I was looking for a bay blagdon mare. She told me if she ever wanted a mare it would be this particular mare and said that it just so happened that she was now for sale. She told me where to find her and wished me luck. When I first saw Harlequin Farms Willerby Myst I was really impressed and wanted to know more about this beautiful mare. Myst originally came from Albert and Amy Coates Farm in England and was imported to the US via Desert Jewel Gypsies to arrive at her new home on Harlequin Farms in CA.
Even as a yearling, Myst had huge bone, a gorgeous body, and incredible hair and feather. They said the very best part about her was her fabulous sweet temperament. She has Sabino and Splash markings, which in the world of the Gypsy Horses is known as Blue Blagdon. Her pedigree contains some of the most famous names known in the breed. Her sire is Peter Pan, a perfect Gypsy Cob, and her Dam is The Willerby Mare who has produced other fillies by Peter Pan which commanded top money at Appleby.
Myst is now coming 6 and stands 13.3-14hh. She is superbly built, with an apple bum, gorgeous head, lovely neck and shoulder and abundant hair and feather. She is, like her father and mother, a perfect Gypsy Cob type. On June 24, 2009, she produced her first foal: a fabulous, tiny blue and white tobiano filly. We look forward to more stunning foals from her.
So after much discussion about this fantastic mare, my husband, David, decided to give her to me as a Christmas gift. (Isn’t that the BEST Christmas present EVER?!!!) I am SO grateful to Stephanie Clark for entrusting us with her outstanding mare. I know that she is going to be an absolute joy to be with, and we look forward to many years of being owned by her! She has had some riding training, which is going to continue when she arrives. I plan to breed her to our buckskin stallion Shandy Blackfeathers this spring, for a 2013 foal. We can’t wait for her arrival! She will fit in perfectly with our other 2 Gypsy mares on River MISTHorse Farm. Check back often for new pictures of our sweet mare, MYST.
